Run With Me

Tomorrow begins a summer journey spanning 100 miles .

One ninth grader and two seventh graders, that's all is takes to begin a running revolution.  Joshua, John and Mark are three brothers in our youth group.  While living in Malaysia with their mom and dad who were there working for Cree (of particular interest to me since that's where Jason works and after going to Hong Kong with him on a business trip I can only imagine the life they lived their for 5 years), these young men developed a passion for helping others.  Last year, now back in the US, JJ&M committed to running 100 miles each during their summer break in order to raise $ for a Christian school in Malaysia and an orphanage in Cambodia.  At the end of the summer they had raised $2,000 of which they donated 100% to the directors of these programs.  This year they are expanding the challenge to anyone and everyone who is up to the task.  What a great combination of working out and building up the kingdom and wow what an inspiration these guys are!

During the past 8 months I have been leading a 10th grade girls Bible study which has reconnected me with our church's youth group.  My co-leader Stephanie and I committed ourselves to the 100 mile task this past Wednesday night at youth group.  Please pray for us as we run this summer and stay focused on our goal.  Also I'd love for you to check out the website, Run With Me for more information on how you can get involved either by running or giving to these people in need across the world.

Tomorrow we begin and September 10th we'll cross the finish line.  I'll post updates on our progress just for added accountability:).

Soooooooooo...anyone want to run with me?
