Hard to believe but on this day last year Jason and I closed on our new home. If only we had known what kind of endless project we were undertaking. Would we do it all over again? Umm yep probably so. Team Glover, as we call it, that's the combination of Jason and I, works so well together that we couldn't imagine sitting around on a Saturday watching tv anymore like we used to. There's always something to be done around here and we love it!
So in honor of this 1 year anniversary I thought I'd share some much anticipated 'before and after' pictures of the work we've done. While Jason and I have worked hard, friends and family of ours have worked even harder. We are forever grateful and indebted to these helpful people!

| Look at those ugly counter tops and that awful coffin light fixture hanging from the ceiling! |

Out-dated desk area which was preventing the island from being wide enough to be useful
Seriously...who designed this mess?

Family room AFTER
Our Sunday school teacher built a new mantel, new custom cabinetry and replaced every piece of molding in this room-incredible! |

| Good bye paneling, hello dry wall! Sooooo much better! |
Someone may ask, "What do the two of you need such a big house for?" Our main mission in purchasing a home was to have a space big enough and well suited for ministry opportunities. So far we've been able to host our YM1 weekly Bible study, 10th grade girls weekly Bible study, YM1 Christmas party, multiple baby showers, a few overnight guests and several other celebrations with friends and family. We pray that our home continues to be a safe haven where friends and family always feel welcome!
On a funnier note, today we have new next door neighbors moving in.
Now here's a little background info that will help the rest of the story make sense...When we purchased our house last summer we were actually the 2nd couple to go under contract on this home. Another couple had gone under contract and after having the inspection done, they panicked and backed out of the deal! We were able to get a copy of this scary inspection before making our offer. At first glance it seemed very bad, but after having several other contractors and friends give opinions on the property we were reassured it was a good investment which made us comfortable continuing with an offer. Our house probably had at least 50 offers on it over a 2 month period, 4 of which were ours. Since this house was a foreclosure, it was very desirable as a fixer-upper to most people.
Fast forward to today...this same couple who went under contract on our house is the same couple moving in next door. How ironic! Oh well...guess we'll welcome them nonetheless and thank them for backing out of their deal last summer!

The house looks great!! Love the mission too! You guys are so gracious, making so many people feel at home!
You guys did an AMAZING job. It has been so much fun to see the transformation over the past year. Congratulations on making this house your home. :)
What's wrong with the old counters- you have something against the color green? :) You guys have done an AMAZING job with the house, and it must feel awesome to look around and say Wow look what all we've accomplished! Its true that a house is always needing something done, but I definitely think that's part of the fun of being a homeowner!
the new work looks so good! i shared the den photos with my mom. my parents have off white walls with stained baseboards, chair rail, crown modeling, and a pretty wooden mantle. my mom has been thinking about darker walls, (about like yours, but green) and white trim. (the trim around the windows is already white; my dad replaced all the windows several years ago.) but we weren't sure about how all the white would look with the brick fireplace, so i was excited to show her yall's work. it looks great!!!
